In the mid 1990s, we were touring Maine and New Hampshire. Driving through North Conway we saw the Inn and went to the information booth to find out that it was an RCI Timeshare. We met with one of the sales reps named Linda. She explained the concept of buying a Timeshare.She showed us around and explained all the activities in the area. We were attracted to the skiing opportunities. As we got more serious, she recommended we consider buying a studio (not all resorts have studios) in the high season. She had purchased one a few years earlier and found when she wanted to to exchange for another Resort, they upgraded her to a one bedroom and she was also to book in any season. Also the yearly maintenance fee was less than a one bedroom. Later we upgraded to a Gold Crown studio. This was very good advice and we bought a week in the winter where we skied with our family for many years. Over time we accumulated points and travelled all over the US. Cape Cod, San Diego, San Francisco, Arizona, Barbados, and Hawaii several times. In fact when our daughter was married we gave them enough points to have a 2 week Honeymoon on 3 islands in Hawaii. We still use it but not as much. At this time of our life things have changed and we are not using it as often. So alpine, and cross country skiing and snowshoeing were our regular winter trips. We always took advantage and summer was hiking and enjoying the pool, sauna and exercise room. Our exchanges and the places we stayed would take another page, so I leave this dream for you. We have accumulated around 100,000 points that we would give you with our RCI Membership which is good until March 2024. By the way, the yearly maintenance fees have increased modestly over the years.
