Per the owner:

As long-time owners of 3 Royal Resorts timeshares, we decided to purchase Hacienda points when they were first offered to owners. These pure points gave us more flexibility with exchanges within the Royal Resorts when we could not use our fixed weeks.
For several years we enjoyed memorable family vacations by using our points to obtain multiple prime units at one resort. We feel these points were a great value and enhanced our Royal Resorts membership over the years.
