Membership Levels

There are four levels of membership. They are, in ascending order, Member, Discoverist, Explorist, and Globalist. Much like other loyalty programs, there are different levels and different requirements for reaching and maintaining each level. So, it’s important to understand how to qualify for each tier.

World of Hyatt Member

Free membership and no minimum requirements to maintain this status.

How to Become a Member: When you first join World of Hyatt, you’ll be entered as a Member. Joining as a Member is free and there are no minimums to maintain your status. You can join on Hyatt’s website.

Benefits: 5 base points for every $1 USD, up to 10% savings at participating hotels and resorts, waived resort fees at participating locations on Free Night Awards. Additionally, you can receive Sapphire status with MGM Rewards, the loyalty program of MGM Resorts International.

World of Hyatt Discoverist

10 Nights or 25,000 Base Points or 3 Meetings/Events are required to maintain this status.

How to Become a Discoverist: If you get the World of Hyatt credit card, then you will automatically achieve Discoverist status. According to Hyatt’s website, the other requirements to achieve Discoverist status are:

“Members who, in the course of one Calendar Year, record a minimum of ten (10) Tier-Qualifying Nights or earn twenty-five thousand (25,000) Base Points will receive Discoverist status after meeting the minimum requirement through February of the second Calendar Year following qualification.”

Benefits: 5 base points for every $1 USD, 10% Bonus Points at participating hotels and resorts, waived resort fees at participating locations on Free Night Awards. Additionally, you can save up to 10% with Member Rate at participating Hyatt hotels and resorts. Free internet and bottled water at stays. Ability to earn 1 World of Hyatt Bonus Point for every $1 spent on qualifying American Airlines flights.

World of Hyatt Explorist

30 Nights or 50,000 Base Points or 10 Meetings/Events are required to maintain this status.

How to Become an Explorist: According to Hyatt’s website, the requirements to achieve Explorist status are:

“In the course of one (1) Calendar Year record a minimum of thirty (30) Tier-Qualifying Nights or earn fifty thousand (50,000) Base Points will receive Explorist status after meeting the minimum requirement through February of the second Calendar Year following qualification. Please allow approximately seven (7) business days from the checkout date of the stay during which you qualify for a new elite status to be applied to your membership.”

Benefits: 5 base points that can be redeemed for every $1 USD, 20% Bonus Points at participating hotels and resorts, waived resort fees at participating locations on Free Night Awards. Additionally, there are room upgrades based on availability at check-in at participating locations. Free internet and bottled water at stays. Ability to earn 1 World of Hyatt Bonus Point for every $1 spent on qualifying American Airlines flights.

Additionally, Explorists receive a Week of Wellbeing with Exhale Spa. This includes a week of unlimited Barre, Cardio, Yoga, and HIIT classes, 25% off spa therapies, and 15% off boutique purchases.

World of Hyatt Globalist

60 Nights or 100,000 Base Points or 20 Meetings/Events are required to maintain Globalist status.

How to Become a Globalist: In order to become a Globalist, you’ll need to stay for 60 qualifying nights, have 100,000 base points, or attend 20 meetings or events within one calendar year.

Benefits: 5 base points that can be redeemed for every $1 USD, 30% Bonus Points at participating hotels and resorts, waived resort fees at participating locations on Free Night Awards. Additionally, you can earn 10 base points/USD when you stay at participating Exhale locations.

There are many perks that come with Globalist status. For example, members can enjoy late checkout, free internet, and bottled water at stays. Relax in the Club lounge with breakfast and evening snacks daily. If no Club Lounge is available, then Globalist members can enjoy a complimentary breakfast daily for each registered guest.
