What is the World of Hyatt? Simply put, it is Hyatt’s loyalty program for frequent travelers. Is it free? Yes, you can become a Member for free and begin earning rewards from Hyatt.

How Does World of Hyatt Work?

World of Hyatt is a travel membership that allows you to earn rewards for booking frequently with Hyatt properties. Of course, the more you stay with Hyatt, the more points you earn. Furthermore, those points can then be used to book free stays with Hyatt.

Membership Levels

There are four levels of membership. They are, in ascending order, Member, Discoverist, Explorist, and Globalist. Much like other loyalty programs, there are different levels and different requirements for reaching and maintaining each level.

Member

Free membership and no minimums required to maintain this status.

How to Become a Member: When you first join World of Hyatt, you’ll be entered as a Member. Joining as a Member is free and there are no minimums to maintain your status. You can join on Hyatt’s website.

Benefits: 5 base points for every $1 USD, up to 10% savings at participating hotels and resorts, waived resort fees at participating locations on Free Night Awards. Additionally, you can earn 10 base points/USD when you stay at participating Exhale locations.

Discoverist

10 Nights or 25,000 Base Points or 3 Meetings/Events are required to maintain this status.

How to Become a Discoverist: To automatically reach Discoverist status, you can get the World of Hyatt Credit Card. According to Hyatt’s website, requirements to achieve Discoverist status are:

“Members who, in the course of one Calendar Year, record a minimum of ten (10) Tier-Qualifying Nights or earn twenty-five thousand (25,000) Base Points will receive Discoverist status after meeting the minimum requirement through February of the second Calendar Year following qualification.”

Benefits: 5 base points for every $1 USD, 10% Bonus Points at participating hotels and resorts, waived resort fees at participating locations on Free Night Awards. Additionally, you can earn 10 base points/USD when you stay at participating Exhale locations. Free internet and bottled water at stays. Ability to earn 1 World of Hyatt Bonus Point for every $1 spent on qualifying American Airlines flights.

Explorist

30 Nights or 50,000 Base Points or 10 Meetings/Events are required to maintain this status.

How to Become an Explorist: According to Hyatt’s website, requirements to achieve Explorist status are:

“In the course of one (1) Calendar Year record a minimum of thirty (30) Tier-Qualifying Nights or earn fifty thousand (50,000) Base Points will receive Explorist status after meeting the minimum requirement through February of the second Calendar Year following qualification. Please allow approximately seven (7) business days from the checkout date of the stay during which you qualify for a new elite status to be applied to your membership.”

Benefits: 5 base points that can be redeemed for every $1 USD, 20% Bonus Points at participating hotels and resorts, waived resort fees at participating locations on Free Night Awards. Additionally, you can earn 10 base points/USD when you stay at participating Exhale locations. Free internet and bottled water at stays. Ability to earn 1 World of Hyatt Bonus Point for every $1 spent on qualifying American Airlines flights.

Additionally, Explorists receive a Week of Wellbeing. This includes a week of unlimited Barre, Cardio, Yoga, and HIIT classes, 25% off spa therapies, and 15% off boutique purchases.

Globalist

60 Nights or 100,000 Base Points or 20 Meetings/Events are required to maintain Globalist status.

How to Become a Globalist: Understandably, in order to become a Globalist, you’ll need to stay for 60 qualifying nights, or have 100,000 base points or attend 20 meetings or events within one calendar year.

Benefits: 5 base points that can be redeemed for every $1 USD, 30% Bonus Points at participating hotels and resorts, waived resort fees at participating locations on Free Night Awards. Additionally, you can earn 10 base points/USD when you stay at participating Exhale locations.
