DVC World Passport Collection

Who doesn’t want a little Disney magic in their vacation? From easy access to the parks to exclusive benefits, Disney Vacation Club offers its members plenty of benefits. One of the best benefits is perfect for DVC members hoping to use some of that Disney magic to see the world. DVC World Collection, formerly known as DVC World Passport Collection, allows Disney Vacation Club members to use their vacation points to travel the world. So if you’re looking to make the most of your Disney Vacation Club membership, you won’t want to miss this! Here’s everything you should know about how to experience the magic of the World Collection.

What is the DVC World Collection?

DVC World Collection is a benefit that Disney Vacation Club members have access to. This program allows members to exchange their Disney Vacation Club points to visit resorts that are affiliated with one of the largest vacation exchange companies in the world: Interval International. Interval International is a massive network that allows you to make reservations at 3,200 resorts located around the world. As a result, while Disney Vacation Club resorts are all located in the U.S., you can still take vacations in all kinds of locations using non-DVC resorts. So if you ever get tired of staying at the many Disney hotels, this collection will still add plenty of value to your ownership interests.

An Important Change in DVC World Collection

If you’re an owner who hasn’t used the World Collection in a while, there’s something you’ll want to keep in mind. As part of Disney Vacation development, the brand had been partnered with RCI for eleven years. However, as of 2022, the DVC World Passport Collection is now partnered with Interval International and is called the DVC World Collection. You’ll want to keep that in mind if you’re a returning owner with a Disney World or Disneyland resort.

How Does DVC World Collection Work With Interval International?

DVC World Passport Collection

First, you’ll need to own some DVC points to be able to take advantage of the DVC World Collection. You can get these by buying a timeshare from any of the DVC resorts. Once you have your DVC points, you’ll be able to exchange them to stay at select resorts that are affiliated with Interval International. There are four different types of booking windows you can take advantage of:

  • Interval International Vacation Exchanges
  • Interval ShortStay Exchanges
  • Interval Getaways
  • Interval ShortStay Getaways

Interval Vacation Exchanges are trips for seven consecutive nights, the booking window for them opens up to two years before the check-in date. Interval Getaways also last for seven nights but the booking window opens up to 18 months before the check-in date. Finally, both Interval ShortStay Exchanges and Interval ShortStay Getaways can run from anywhere from one to six nights, but the former’s booking window opens a year before the check-in date and the latter’s opens up to six months before the check-in date. With that said, it’s always best to make reservations early whenever possible.

How to Save Money When Joining Disney Vacation Club

So, are you looking to join the thousands of DVC members who enjoy the World Passport Collection? The first thing you’ll need to make reservations around the world is DVC points. A great way to buy these vacation points for a lower cost is through the timeshare resale market. Because timeshares aren’t an investment, they, like other luxury items, tend to decrease in price over time. This means you’ll be able to save money on your purchase of points while still enjoying all the perks that come with being a DVC member. Special events at Walt Disney World, the ability to trade points for the Disney Cruise Line, and much, much more are all within reach! You’ll still have other additional fees tied to Interval International, but buying resale is a great first step.
